In addition to blood loss, bleeding hemorrhoids can be associated, in the initial stages, with anal burning and itching.
The factors that contribute to bleeding hemorrhoids are diverse and include chronic constipation, excessive urge to evacuate, long squatting on the toilet, unbalanced and low-fiber diet, and pregnancy.
While not a serious condition, bleeding hemorrhoids shouldn't be overlooked. In fact, milder cases can be treated with the topical application of drugs with a decongestant action. However, a worsening of symptoms may make it necessary to resort to surgery.
