Intestinal blockage is the dangerous medical condition characterized by the presence of a partial or complete obstruction in a point of the intestine, such as to slow down or totally prevent the transit of digestive products.

The main causes of intestinal blockage include: intestinal adhesions, volvulus, intussusception, ingestion of foreign bodies, tumors of the intestine, diverticulitis, Crohn's disease, fecaloma and diseases of the nervous system such as Parkinson's disease.
Episodes of intestinal blockage are typically responsible for: abdominal pain and cramps, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, abnormal stools and abdominal bloating.
