Generality
Seminoma, or testicular seminoma, is a malignant tumor of the testicles, which originates from germ cells.
Among testicular cancers, it is the most common; in fact, 45% of patients with testicular neoplasia suffer from seminoma.
The causes of onset are currently unknown, however the risk factors are known (cryptorchidism, familiarity with the disease, etc.).
The symptomatological picture generally consists in the presence of an abnormal swelling at the testicular level.
Surgical removal of the diseased testicle is the basic treatment, which is impossible to ignore. Afterwards, doctors could plan a few courses of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
