Bepanthenol®, a Bayer brand that has been dealing with skin health for over 60 years, presented Bepanthenol Tattoo, a product entirely dedicated to the protection and care of tattoos, on Thursday 26 November with a digital print event. The occasion allowed a real journey into the world of tattooing, both from a scientific and an artistic point of view.
Tattoo: art and tradition
The tattoo (or tattoo) is one of the oldest permanent body decoration techniques, which involves the inoculation of colored pigments through the skin, in order to define designs, letters and symbols.

Why is it important to take care of the tattoo?
Tattoos are not free from more or less important side effects, such as intolerance reactions, especially when poor quality or even toxic inks are used (not allowed by the Ministry of Health).For this reason, it is important to rely exclusively on professional tattoo artists.
Furthermore, there is the possibility of local infections: to all intents and purposes, a tattoo is a skin lesion, so it is important to take care of it in the days immediately following the execution, to speed up the healing process and prevent unpleasant inconveniences.
Professor Di Pietro went on to highlight how important it is and "then take care of the skin using products that are absolutely safe and tested, capable of promoting skin regeneration».
What to do after a tattoo
The skin needs about a week to fix the pigments: when the skin is repairing itself, it needs to be treated from the point of view of regeneration and hydration. During healing, therefore, it is necessary to prefer creams formulated with active ingredients useful for this purpose and capable of maintaining the tattoo over time as if it had just been done.

Its formula with Panthenol (or pro-vitamin B5), an ingredient of particular importance for the epidermis because, in addition to providing it with the necessary level of hydration, it helps it to regenerate by acting from the inside.
