Generality
"Black tea" is the name given to tea leaves subjected to a particular process and from which infusion is obtained a dark red drink, also called black tea.
Typically native to India and Sri Lanka, from where it is exported a little around the world, black tea generally has a stronger and more decisive flavor and aroma than less oxidized teas.
The most prized variety of black tea is "pecko" tea (or peka or pekoe tea, which means "fluff" in Chinese, indicating the use of better quality young buds and leaves). In general, the drug is a lot the more famous the higher the percentage of intact leaves.
Despite the increase in sales of green and white tea, black tea still accounts for more than 90% of all teas sold in the West.
