Product features Vitargo Scitec Nutrition
Vitargo: complex polysaccharide, belonging to the maltodextrin family, obtained by the Swedish company Carbamyl AB through protocols of controlled starch hydrolysis. Unlike common maltodextrins, this complex sugar has a series of ramifications supported by alpha 1-6 and alpha 1-4 glycosidic bonds, which determine a molecular weight between 500,000 and 700,000 daltons.
The main property of vitargo consists in its low osmolarity, which remains around 62 mOsmol / kg even at concentrations of 13.5%, much higher than those formulated with maltodextrin-based carbohydrates. The reduced osmolarity significantly affects the kinetic characteristics and biological functions of this polysaccharide, adapting perfectly to the needs of atelta. The reduced gastric emptying time and rapid intestinal transit avoid the side effects commonly associated with the intake of powdered carbohydrates (diarrhea and abdominal cramps), ensuring a high and immediate availability of the substrate. This last feature takes the form of a marked improvement in glycogen resynthesis, especially in the immediate post-workout, which guarantees optimal recovery of the athlete's muscles. Studies, in fact, show how the speed of biosynthesis and glycogen deposition results increased by about 70%, as evidenced by the doubling of the activity of glycogen synthetase in the first two hours post work-out.
The best use of glucose, and the most effective muscle recovery, would guarantee not only a greater anabolic boost but also an increase in energy capacity, with a consequent improvement in performance (as experimentally tested).
Furthermore, the low osmolarity of the solution would guarantee a rehydration process, particularly important in endurance sports to support performance for prolonged times.
Rationale - Vitargo Scitec Nutrition
Experimentation with Vitargo and carbohydrates of its own complexity is not yet particularly developed, therefore the data in our possession are limited to some characteristics and some potential benefits obtainable from the integration with these products. More precisely, the demonstrated effects materialize in:
- Better body rehydration process: guaranteed by the low osmolarity of the solution, which allows a net flow from the intestinal lumen towards the circulatory stream;
- Optimization of post-workout muscle glycogen synthesis: supported by the best availability of substrate, and by the rapid release of glucose into the circulation;
- Strengthening of muscular energy capacities: derived from the optimization of the recovery and resynthesis processes of muscle glycogen;
- Improvement of the kinetic parameters: natural consequence of the low osmolarity of the product;
- Reduction of side effects in the short term: avoided by the reduction of the accumulation of intra luminal liquids, determined by the high osmolarity.
Method of use recommended by the company - Vitargo Scitec Nutrition
Dissolve 30 grams of product in 400 ml of water and take during the day.
Method of use in sports - Vitargo Scitec Nutrition
Although all the manufacturing companies try to suggest a standard dosage to be used in a day, in order to make the most of all the potential effects deriving from the correct integration with complex carbohydrates, it is necessary to adapt the supplementary protocol to the eating habits, to the type of training , the objectives to be achieved and the physiological condition of the athlete. Furthermore, given the product in question, it is of fundamental importance to optimize both the preparation phase (maintaining a concentration of the vitargo-based product not exceeding 14%) and the timing of administration.
In this regard, one could resort to the "assumption:
- Pre-training (precompetitive ration): to saturate muscle glycogen levels and put the body in the best possible energy conditions. This should be done by planning a correct pre-competition or pre-training meal, and possibly a supplement with CHO and BCAA , without engaging the body too much in digestion and avoiding glycemic fluctuations and consequent reactive hypoglycemia.
- During training (pre-competitive ration): in this case the administration of carbohydrates should necessarily be carried out in the form of liquids or gels, to avoid difficulties in chewing and digestion, also in this case avoiding glycemic fluctuations and opting for medium-release CHO
- Post workout: essential meal both in hypertrophy plans and in normal recovery processes. In this case the meal, carried out in the immediate post work out, in order to exploit the anabolic window, should consist of CHO and Proteins in a ratio of 3: 1, in order both to recover the depleted glycogen and to optimize the processes of protein synthesis.
Vitargo Scitec Nutrition synergies
Carbohydrates + proteins: in the recovery phase, it could be useful in improving the anabolic window.
Carbohydrates + mineral salts: essential for hydrosaline replenishment, if formulated in hypo and isotonic drinks.
Carbohydrates + antioxidants: can reduce the oxidative damage induced by intense physical exercise.
Vitargo Scitec Nutrition side effects
The side effects that can occur following the wrong administration of carbohydrates can be short-term or long-term.
In the short term, generally, problems can occur in the gastrointestinal tract, with abdominal cramps, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. All these effects are limited by using Vitargo instead of the common maltodextrins.
The long-term effects, on the other hand, could be compared to those obtainable with a diet excessively rich in carbohydrates (overweight, obesity and related diseases).
