Are there Aphrodisiac Foods?
When you think of a romantic dinner, scented candles, background music, flowers and, why not, some dishes based on aphrodisiac foods come to mind. Century after century, crossing different cultures very careful to exploit what nature offered them, some foods have come down to the present day maintaining their reputation as aphrodisiac foods. It matters little if according to scholars it is only fresh water, after all, what matters is the psychological factor.
Imagination, complicity and play. These are the assumptions on which the aphrodisiac power of certain foods is based
Sexual desire has two fundamental components, a physiological one linked to metabolic factors and a psychic one, linked to emotional stimuli. This last aspect is fundamental as it acts by strengthening the physiological mechanisms that give rise to desire.
Aphrodisiac foods probably act on this "mental" component, helping to trigger fantasies and activate vascular circuits capable of improving the couple's intimacy.
Therefore, we will not try to research the scientific basis on which the alleged aphrodisiac power of certain foods is based: we will limit ourselves only to listing a series of foods to which popular tradition attributes aphrodisiac properties, leaving the reader free to travel with his own imagination.
