The gadflies are instects belonging to the large group of ectoparasites and are active above all in the warm months. In detail, the gadfly bites come from female specimens, as they are bloodsucking.
In addition to the typical pain they cause, gadfly bites worry about the potential transmission of bacteria and parasites which, in turn, can give rise to very serious infectious diseases. Fortunately, the transmission of pathogens through gadfly bites does not seem to be particularly widespread in our country.
