Administered orally, nebivolol is often used to treat hypertension. The active substance is available in several medicines, both alone and in combination with hydrochlorothiazide (a thiazide diuretic also used to treat excessive blood pressure. but also to resolve cardiac, renal or hepatic edema).
Medicines containing nebivolol would require a repeatable prescription (RR) to be dispensed; however, being classified as class A drugs, their cost can be reimbursed by the National Health System (SSN), wholly or partially, depending on the case (it may be necessary to pay a small ticket).
