E481 STEAROIL SODIUM LACTYLATE
Sodium stearoyl lactylate is a food additive of natural origin, obtained from the combination of stearic acid and lactic acid.
The origin of stearic acid can be either vegetable or animal, although, almost always, that of vegetable origin is used.
These food additives are used in various foods, above all for their emulsifying, stabilizing and leavening function.
They can be contained in various products, such as bakery products.
At the moment there are no known negative side effects for human health deriving from the consumption of food products supplemented with sodium stearoyl lactylate.
ADI dose: 20 mg per kg of body weight.
