Preparation
- Cut the butter into small pieces and leave it at room temperature until it has the consistency of an ointment.
- Wash the aromatic herbs (e.g. chives, mint, parsley), dry them and cut them into small pieces. You can also choose other types of spices, according to your personal taste.
- In the bowl of butter, add the corn oil (or olive oil), the chopped herbs, the oregano and the garlic powder. Season with salt and pepper. Mix the mixture with the electric whisk until obtaining the consistency of a very compact cream.
What is the oil for?
Oil is a fundamental ingredient to make butter spreadable and prevent it from solidifying in the fridge. For this reason, by increasing or decreasing the dose of oil you can obtain a different consistency of the flavored butter.
To prepare a solid butter, however, the use of oil can be omitted.- The spreadable butter is ready, it can be kept in a glass jar with a screw cap, until the expiry date of the raw material. For longer storage, the butter can be frozen.
