- 250 g of puff pastry
- 350-400 g of apples
- 100 g of apricot jam
- Untreated lemon juice
- 50 g of sultanas
Materials Needed
- Chopping board
- Knife
- Bowls of various sizes
- Brush
- Silicone baking cups
- Muffin mold
Preparation
- Prepare the puff pastry as described on THIS VIDEO.
- Dedicate yourself to the preparation of apples. Wash the red apples and dry them. Cut the apples in half, then remove the stalk.
- Place the apple on a cutting board, with the skin facing upwards. Cut the apple into very thin slices.
- As the slices are obtained, combine them in a bowl with lemon juice.
- Soften the apple slices in the microwave for 2 minutes at 800W.
- Meanwhile, combine the raisins in a bowl filled with lukewarm water and leave to soften for 10 minutes.
- Drain the apple slices from the liquid that came out: the apples should not be crunchy, but not excessively soft either.
- Cut the dough into strips of dough 10 cm high and 20 cm long. Brush the strip with apricot or orange marmalade. Place the apple slices along one side of the puff pastry, overlapping them slightly and taking care to make them just come out on the side of the peel.
- Drain the raisins from the soaking water.
- Create a thin layer of raisins under the apples, leaving about 3 cm of free pastry.
- Fold the pastry inwards, completely covering the raisins and partially the apples.
The right idea
To enrich the puff pastry roses, it is advisable to add pine nuts and ground cinnamon: in this way you will get the typical flavor of the strudel!- Roll the dough starting from a short side: you will have to get a rose.
- Repeat this operation for the other strips of pastry as well.
- Preheat the oven to 180 ° C.
- Insert silicone cups into the muffin molds. Place each rose in a cup and bake in a hot oven at 180 ° C for 20 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and serve with icing sugar to taste.
