The idea of Halloween
To prepare an orange cream (in full "Halloween" theme) it is advisable to add a few drops of orange coloring or to use colored sugar.- Cover the milk cream with a sheet of cling film and allow to cool completely.
- Meanwhile, prepare the cocoa shortcrust pastry for the biscuits. In a bowl, mix the dry ingredients (white flour, wheat starch, salt, unsweetened cocoa, yeast and sugar). In the center, add the soft butter, egg and milk, then knead until the mixture is workable with your hands and not sticky. If necessary, add a little more milk.
- Wrap the dough in a sheet of cling film and let it rest for half an hour.
- In the meantime, devote yourself to the preparation of the chocolate legs. Chop the dark chocolate and melt it in the microwave or in a double boiler. Gather the chocolate in a croissant and, on a sheet of baking paper, draw a hundred long and narrow strands. Leave the chocolate paws to set in the fridge.
- Take the dough and roll it out with a rolling pin to a thickness of a few millimeters. Using a round mold, obtain the biscuits and place them gradually on a plate lined with baking paper.
- Bake the biscuits in a hot oven preheated to 160 ° C for about 15 minutes.
- Remove the cookies from the oven and allow to cool.
- Arrange half of the biscuits on a plate or on a cutting board and decorate with the remaining melted chocolate. With decorations of your choice (eg pine nuts, silver pralines or chocolate dragees), make the "eyes" of the spider.
- At this point, assemble the cookies two by two making the shape of small spiders. Spread a teaspoon of cold milk cream on the base of a biscuit, then fit 8 strands of chocolate to mimic the spider's legs. Cover with a decorated biscuit, exerting slight pressure to make sure that the two parts adhere.
- Continue in this way with all the other biscuits.
- Leave to cool for at least an hour to allow the chocolate to solidify. Serve.
Alice's comment - PersonalCooker
Come on, in the end these spiders are not as scary as I thought they are so sweet, so good! Do you know what I tell you? If all spiders were like this, I really think I could become their faithful friend! And what are you afraid of?Nutritional values and Health Comment on the recipe
