In 20-25% of clinical cases, endometriosis is asymptomatic (ie it does not produce symptoms); on such occasions, its diagnosis is random and occurs during surgery performed for other purposes, such as to remedy a form of infertility (25-60% of cases).
- Chronic pelvic pain
- Dysmenorrhea, which is very painful menstruation;
- Dyspareunia, ie pain in the pelvis and inside the vagina during sexual intercourse;
- Pain when defecating or passing urine;
- Changes in the menstrual cycle, with heavy blood loss during menstruation (menorrhagia) or with blood loss during the intra-menstrual period (menometrorrhagia);
- Rectal bleeding during menstruation;
- Reduction of fertility;
- Presence of swelling or painful pelvic masses;
- Feeling of fatigue, episodes of diarrhea or constipation, nausea and / or a sense of fullness, particularly during menstruation.
