Inner Ear: How Is It Made and How Does It Work?

Preceded by the middle ear and even before by the external ear, the inner ear is responsible for completing the process of perception of sounds and ensuring the sense of balance, both when the human being is still and when he moves.
The inner ear consists of three main elements: the vestibular apparatus, which is the organ responsible for balance, the cochlea, which is the structure responsible for the auditory function, and the bone labyrinth, which is the cavity of the temporal bone charged with containing and protecting the two previous elements.
The inner ear can be the subject of various diseases, including labyrinthitis and Ménière's syndrome.
