Cardiac in Herbalist: Property of the Cardiac
The cardiac exerts its therapeutic activity on the cardiocirculatory function, reducing the hyperstimulation typical of hyperthyroidism; moreover, it presents a neurosedative and cardiac sedative action when taken in association with mild sedatives (lemon balm, hops, hypericum). For these reasons, the cardiac is particularly indicated in functional tachycardias, as a complement in the treatment of arterial hypertension and hyperthyroidism. Folk medicine advises the heart even in the presence of amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea and menopausal disorders.
Contraindications
Avoid taking in case of ascertained hypersensitivity to one or more components.
Cardiac is contraindicated in pregnancy due to the action of leonurin on the myometrium (uterotonic property). At high doses, cardiac preparations can cause uterine bleeding.
Pharmacological interactions
- the prolonged use of the cardiac can interfere with the cardioactive glucosides, with thyroxine and the Tapazole.
