Purify the skin
Facial cleansing is probably the most important treatment for preventing or treating acne and skin impurities. Homemade or professional, facial cleansing allows you to thoroughly purify the skin through the (literal) removal of dead cells, blackheads, pimples or other small skin defects.
The concept of facial cleansing goes far beyond the "simple" elimination of dirt: cleaning the face thoroughly means taking care of yourself, preserving the skin in optimal conditions and preventing the deposit of bacteria, impurities and accumulations of sebum on the skin of the face.
Attention
Paradoxically, from an exaggerated facial cleansing the opposite effect can be obtained: excessive cleansing can in fact remove the thin natural layer that covers the skin, drying it out and making the skin more sensitive and prone to inflammation and pimples.
- An inadequate and exaggerated facial cleansing risks drying the skin, stimulating it to increase the production of sebum which in turn predisposes to greasiness and pimples
Homemade face cleansing
Daily cleansing of the face is the main gesture of love that the skin needs to appear soft, luminous and, above all, purified and free from all impurities.
To optimize the "purifying" effect of the facial treatment, it is necessary to thoroughly cleanse the skin in the morning, as soon as you wake up, and in the evening, before going to bed.The first and very important step to begin an adequate facial cleansing is to free the choked skin from make-up and other impurities that inevitably settle over the course of the day. The skin, in fact, is comparable to a sponge: during the day, the natural hydrolipidic film of the skin captures and absorbs smog, pollution and dust, hindering the physiological skin transpiration. Here, therefore, that the cleansing of the face, performed meticulously with specific and delicate cleansers, is essential to keep the skin in an optimal state of health for as long as possible.
Please note
Nothing purer than water: a certainly true statement, but you shouldn't think about cleaning the skin properly by "washing" your face with water only (.... it would be like washing a dish greased with oil without detergent ). From here you can easily understand how it is essential to carefully choose the right cleansers based on your skin type (dry, combination, oily, etc.).
How to perform a proper facial cleansing at home?
AWAKENING ...
... the skin needs to be pampered and cleansed. First of all, it is recommended to gently massage the skin of the face with a specific cleanser, which should always be chosen according to the type of skin. Pay particular attention to cleansing the eyes, ears and neck. Proceed with facial cleansing by rinsing the skin with warm water. Conclude with a gentle drying and with the application, first of a tonic and, subsequently, of a cream suitable for your skin (moisturizing, emollient, redensifying, anti-aging, etc.).
IN THE EVENING...
... the treatment to cleanse the face must be deeper. During the course of the day, in fact, the skin is continually subjected to the action of pollutants and powders: for this reason, facial cleansing must be more meticulous. After removing the make-up with the help of cotton and make-up remover cosmetics, it is advisable to remove the cleanser with warm water, pat gently with a soft cloth and massage the skin of the face and neck with a toner.
- Sometimes, it is possible to apply a face scrub with specific cosmetic products with an exfoliating action. Even a simple do-it-yourself exfoliant - prepared with a base of coarse salt or sugar, and enriched with essential oils, yogurt or honey - can help rid the skin of acne and impurities deposited on the skin.
After cleansing and drying the face, it is recommended to apply, both in the morning and in the evening, a nourishing, moisturizing and emollient cream to keep the skin soft, hydrated and radiant.
Cosmetic products must always be chosen according to the type of skin. Eg:
- Sweet almond oil to nourish sensitive, delicate and dry skin
- Rose water to tone skin prone to seborrheic dermatitis
- Creams with hyaluronic acid to deeply hydrate the skin: the product is an excellent remedy against wrinkles and dry skin
- Anti-wrinkle creams to postpone the (inevitable) formation of these imperfections typical of skin aging
- Anti-aging creams with a "filler-like" effect for mature skin
- Creams with sunscreens, particularly indicated before exposure to the sun
- Glycolic acid cream to combat acne and dark spots on the skin
- Moisturizing, anti-reddening and soothing cream for sensitive skin
Professional facial cleansing
To optimize the daily cleaning of the face, when necessary it is important to contact the beautician - or another competent figure - to thoroughly clean the skin, removing all the imperfections that water and detergents are unable to eliminate.
The professional facial cleansing, to be performed occasionally, must be considered a strengthening treatment, aimed above all at the well-being of the skin. skin: for example, oily and acne-prone skin needs these treatments much more often than normal skin.
Professional facial cleansing involves several main phases, listed below:
- Thorough cleansing of the facial skin through the application of cleansing products suitable for the type of skin. The choice of cleanser is very important: especially in the presence of acneic and oily skin, it is necessary to prefer products with a slightly acidic pH - such as to reduce as much as possible sebum secretion - enriched with sebum-normalizing and skin-purifying substances
- After removing all traces of cleanser from the skin of the face, we proceed with the application of a TONIC, a refreshing and alcohol-free substance that invigorates the skin.
- Subsequently, the face is sprayed with HOT STEAM: the heat on the skin thins the sebum, at the same time favoring the removal of blackheads. Moisture, in addition to moisturizing the skin, encourages the dilation of the pores, promoting their emptying. Steam treatment is contraindicated for particularly sensitive skin, especially if affected by couperose.
- We proceed with the PEELING: the application of exfoliating products (eg alpha-hydroxy acids) favors the detachment of dead cells anchored to the superficial layer of the skin, reducing the hyperkeratinization of the boils. The treatment with the scrub is strongly not recommended in case of sensitive skin, couperose, affected by sunburn or dermatitis.
- The next step is the MANUAL REMOVAL OF FORUNCULAS, blackheads and impurities, which must always be performed with extreme care and delicacy.
- A CONCENTRATED SERUM is then applied - always specific for the type of skin - with anti-reddening, anti-inflammatory, moisturizing, nourishing or sebum-balancing properties.
- We proceed with a delicate and relaxing MASSAGE, with lymphatic drainage action to decongest the critical points, eliminating the toxins that stagnate in the system.
- Application of a MASK on the face: clay masks, for example, are suitable for acne-prone skin, collagen masks are specific for mature skin, while cucumber masks are skin-purifying, remineralizing and refreshing.
- Complete the facial cleansing with the application of a moisturizing, emollient and protective CREAM.
