Here is a series of fundamental Pilates exercises aimed at strengthening the abdominal muscles, with activation of the transversus, the deepest layer of muscles of the abdominal wall. The exercises are accompanied by specific breathing that helps abdominal contraction and are to be performed by intentionally activating the muscles of the abdomen and bringing one's attention to the positioning of the back and pelvis which must be neutral and close to the mat (avoid arching and lifting from the lower back mat).
