Preparation

- Meanwhile, dissolve the cornstarch in the remaining cold soy milk.
- When the soy milk in the saucepan is hot, add the dark chocolate and mix until completely dissolved.
- Add the coconut oil (optional) and the corn starch dissolved in the soy milk: continue to mix with the whisk to avoid the formation of lumps.
What are the differences with the pudding?
Compared to a chocolate pudding, the vegan chocolate cream is richer in sugar and has a less dense texture due to the presence of coconut oil.- Turn off the heat and cover the vegan custard with a sheet of cling film, an important trick to avoid drying the surface.
- The vegan custard is ready: to be easily distributed, we recommend using a pastry bag.
- It can be kept in the fridge for 3-4 days.
Alice's comment - PersonalCooker
The custard that I have proposed to you has nothing to envy to the traditional one based on eggs. It is perfect for filling cakes and cream puffs or, if you can't resist, eat it as a delicious spoon dessert. You can adjust the dose according to your tastes, increasing or reducing the dose of starch, you will get a more or less thick cream. Try to enrich it with a pinch of cinnamon and you will give an extra touch that will surprise you.Nutritional values and Health Comment on the recipe
