This following thought is my "creed" and I hope it will make you readers think too:
"There are little eyes that every day will observe what you will do ...
and young ears that every day
they will listen to what you say ...
and inexperienced hands that will want to imitate
what you will show ...
There is a child who every day
dreams of becoming like you,
you are the example for a small man / woman
who wants to grow the way you grew up
and for this he never doubts
of everything you do.
His eyes are wide open on you
and his young mind is convinced
that you are always right ...
Be a good guide for whom
wants to be and become "great" !! "
However, in Italy, the first steps to strengthen the combination of "school and sport" are being taken. In fact, the Pogas, or the Ministry for Youth Policies and Sports Activities, has demonstrated a commitment to promoting motor activity in both primary schools (through experimental projects that provide for each school involved a graduate in motor science who plans and carries out motor activity), which in secondary schools (middle and high schools), where physical education is curricular but limited to two hours per week, to which funds have been allocated for the opening of schools in the afternoon to do various activities, including sport. Finally, in the financial law of 2007, some tax relief for costs related to sports for young people aged 5 to 18 who regularly practice sports. The tax deduction, up to 210 euros per year, supports and encourages families who choose to have their children practicing a sport on an ongoing basis. CONCLUSIONS
Diet and sport are closely linked and are therefore of considerable importance in overcoming a series of problems related to childhood obesity. proper nutrition education, combined with sports practice, è basic because it not only helps to reduce quantities
calories ingested daily, while maintaining the balance in the intake of the three macronutrients (fats, carbohydrates and proteins) unchanged, but also because physical exercise increases metabolism and allows you to burn excess fat. in a planned and continuous way, in addition to the loss of excess weight, it brings physiological adaptations over time which are very important in the treatment of obesity. It is therefore a question of intervening on several levels, as it is not enough to educate lads to correct nutrition, but it is necessary to count on the cooperation of school to provide indications and behavioral strategies (including, for example: eliminating all distributors of snacks and snacks, or replacing them with healthier foods) and on the availability of family to vary eating habits and lifestyle. For this reason, information and education messages must be directed towards two target:
1) mothers with children 0-14 years old, because they tend to pass on their personal relationship with food to their children and, as purchasing manager, to influence the food choices of the family (primary target)
2) children themselves and adolescents, because, influenced by advertising and dominated by the suggestions of the peer group, they tend to follow a "disordered diet (secondary target)
There are other protagonists who should intervene, be involved and trained (for example: a reform of the degree program in Motor Sciences would be necessary) so that interdisciplinary cooperation work can be done which is fundamental if one wants to really reduce the incidence of diseases related to modifiable risk factors (sedentarism, overweight and obesity, cigarette smoking, excessive alcohol intake, etc.); unfortunately there are many interests in between (for example: pharmaceutical companies in the sale of drugs, the food industry in the consumption of products, etc.) and is this perhaps the reason why everything goes so slowly !? Definitely the promotion of the quality of life it is a "complex and ambitious cultural operation to be carried out but I believe that a change over time can only take place if individual awareness is integrated by the collective awareness of the entities that represent individuals (Public Institutions, Healthcare, Mass Media and Information, Consumer Associations) In that teachers, instructors, coaches, educators, entertainers, sportsmen etc., we have a responsibility to society, having chosen this path in us should be strong And determined the value of giving continuous service to people in terms of physical activity as a social prevention. AND" a change of mentality is fundamental, we must begin to think in terms of collaboration and team work. Instead, every social "actor" seems to want to think only of himself and to protect his knowledge. Subjects of a different nature interact on the phenomenon, however all contribute to face the same problem: that of managing health and the expenses necessary to maintain it.
There mission that unites us is therefore the "motor activity such as social prevention, this makes us a unique and strong team that fights towards the same goal, the result will be different if everyone continues to fight on their own !!.
