Pudendal nerve

Belonging to the peripheral nervous system, the pudendal nerve is an even mixed nerve, which has the important task of innervating the external genitalia of men and women, the perineum and the anus, and of controlling the muscles of the pelvic floor.
Beginning just before the sacrospinous ligament, the pudendal nerve passes between the piriformis and ischiococcygeus muscles, exits the pelvis at one point and then re-enters it from another position, enters the so-called pudendal canal and branches into three branches.
