Fever is a symptom that arises in response to innumerable pathologies of extremely variable entity; however, regardless of the triggering cause, fever is an expression of an alteration of the hypothalamic thermoregulatory center. Patients affected by fever manifest symptoms such as chills, general malaise, paleness and goose-skin.
Although fever is often a symptom that can be resolved quickly - typical of flu diseases - we must not forget that some of its variants (eg intermittent fever) can hide even serious pathologies, such as tumors, septic infections, etc.

- Clarithromycin (eg Biaxin), for infections with Haemophilus influenzae
