PROTOVIT ® is a drug based on vitamins A, C, D, E, B1, B2, B3, B6.
THERAPEUTIC GROUP: Multivitamins
Indications PROTOVIT ® - Vitamin complex
PROTOVIT ® is indicated in the prevention and treatment of multivitamin deficiencies and hypovitaminosis, including symptomatic ones.
Mechanism of action PROTOVIT ® - Vitamin complex
PROTOVIT ® is a particularly complete multivitamin, consisting of both B vitamins and vitamins C, D and E.
This type of formulation guarantees the intake of vitamins important in the regulation of the various metabolic processes, both catabolic, therefore of energy production and yield, and anabolic, therefore of the biosynthesis of macromolecules essential for cell survival.
At the same time vitamins C and E intervene by enhancing the cellular antioxidant pull, and protecting the cell, and in particular the nucleic acids and membrane lipids from oxidative damage induced by reactive oxygen species responsible for the structural and functional deterioration of entire tissues and organs.
Vitamins A and D, on the other hand, by acting through specific intracellular receptors in a very similar way to what some hormones do, regulate the differentiation and maturation process of high turnover cells, such as those of the immune system, thus allowing the organism to resist more effectively to the pathogenic action of different microorganisms.
Studies carried out and clinical efficacy
1.VITAMINS AND SERIOUS NEPHROPATHIES
Clin Lab. 2011; 57 (11-12): 939-46.
Vitamin A, E, B12, and folic acid in end-stage renal disease Tunisian patients: status and predictive value for overall mortality and cardiovascular events.
Fellah H, Feki M, Taieb SH, Hammami B, Boubaker K, Lacour B, Ben Abdallah T, Kaabachi N.
Study demonstrating how supplementation with vitamins A, E and B vitamins could be useful in reducing the mortality rate from cardiovascular events in patients with end-stage renal disease.
2.VITAMINS IN INFLAMMATORY PROTECTION IN ATHLETES
J Appl Physiol. 2011 Dec 29.
Role of Vitamin C and E Supplementation on IL-6 in response to Training.
Yfanti C, Fischer CP, Nielsen S, Akerström T, Nielsen AR, Veskoukis AS, Kouretas D, Lykkesfeldt J, Pilegaard H, Pedersen BK.
Work that demonstrates how supplementation with vitamins A, E and C can significantly reduce plasma concentrations of inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6 following intense training. This state is often accompanied by an increase in protein synthesis of the enzymes involved. in the detoxification process.
3. THE EFFECTS OF VITAMIN A ON THE NUTRITIONAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE COLOSTRUM
Matern Child Nutr. 2011 Nov 20.
Correlation of vitamin A nutritional status on alpha-tocopherol in the colostrum of lactating women.
de Lira LQ, Lima MS, de Medeiros JM, da Silva IF, Dimenstein R.
This study demonstrates how supplementation with vitamin A in breastfeeding women can lead to a reduction in the concentrations of vitamin E in colostrum. For this reason, a more complete integration could be envisaged.

Interactions
Although clinically relevant drug interactions are not known, it should be remembered that the concomitant intake of estrogen-progestin contraceptives could increase serum concentrations of vitamin A, while that of antiepileptic, anticonvulsant and digitalis drugs could instead determine the onset of significant pharmacokinetic variations in the vitamin D.
Furthermore, the presence of vitamin C, especially in high quantities, could increase the risk of hemosiderosis in patients simultaneously undergoing martial therapy, while vitamin B6 could antagonize the therapeutic effects of levodopa.
