POLARAMIN ® is a drug based on Desclofeniramina maleate
THERAPEUTIC GROUP: Antipruritic, including antihistamines, anesthetics etc.
Indications POLARAMIN ® Desclofeniramina
POLARAMIN ® is indicated in the symptomatic treatment of pruritic dermatitis, sun and erythema and insect bites.
Mechanism of action POLARAMIN ® Desclofeniramina
Desclofeniramina, the active ingredient of POLARAMIN ®, is the dextrorotatory isomer of the more famous Chlorpheniramine, therefore endowed with effective biological anticholinergic, antihistamine and modestly sedative properties.
The aforementioned therapeutic properties are attributable to the ability of the active ingredient to compete with histamine for binding to H1 receptors, thus inhibiting the biological activity of histamine and controlling vasodilation, inflammation, pain and edema induced by this. mediator.
The topical use of POLARAMIN ® also limits the systemic absorption of the active principle, significantly reducing the potential side effects classically linked to the systemic use of antihistamines such as those affecting the central nervous system.
All this makes the administration of POLARAMIN ® effective and safe for the treatment of minor skin diseases such as itchy dermatitis, insect bites and sunburn, supported by biological mediators such as histamine.
