Combreto in Herbalist: Property of Combreto
In the past, the fluid extract obtained from combreto leaves was used as a cholagogue, diuretic and laxative; it was therefore especially indicated in the presence of hepatic insufficiency, jaundice, biliary lithiasis, cholecystopathies and dyspepsia.
In modern phytotherapy, the use of combretto has been abandoned because it was considered potentially responsible for gastrointestinal disorders and not supported by adequate clinical studies.
Contraindications
Do not use in case of known hypersensitivity to one or more components.
Pharmacological interactions
- potentiation of the biological effects of gastrointestinal drugs and laxatives.
