Generality
Hepatic encephalopathy is a type of encephalopathy that affects individuals suffering from hepatic insufficiency. In fact, these patients have a liver unable to eliminate waste substances from the blood, the accumulation of which leads to a deterioration of nerve cells.
Treatments vary according to the severity of the triggering causes: for example, an acute hepatic encephalopathy requires the implementation (among other things in a short time) of a liver transplant.
