BICOMPLEX ® is used as a therapeutic adjuvant in the treatment of hepatitis, infectious diseases and anemia.
B vitamins have also been found to be effective in improving the health conditions of anorexic patients or patients with growth deficiency.

Mechanism of action BICOMPLEX ® - Vitamins of group B

BICOMPLEX ® is a drug consisting of a series of vitamin elements of group B, including folic acid and cyanocobalamine, particularly useful in the treatment of anemic states, and in particular of megaloblastic anemia.
The B vitamins are a series of precious elements in the "functional economy of the organism", participating as cofactors in numerous enzymatic reactions, useful both in the production of energy starting from macromolecules such as carbohydrates, lipids and proteins and in the processes biosynthetics.
Of particular importance is the antioxidant role of these vitamins, necessary to protect the cell from oxidative insults exerted by reactive oxygen species, thus avoiding damage to cellular structures useful for the survival of entire organs and tissues.
A separate discussion must be made for folinic acid and cyanocobalamine, vitamins capable of promoting the synthesis of nucleotides such as thymine, involved in the synthesis of DNA, and detoxifying the body from important catabolites such as homocysteine, involved in first line in the genesis of cardiovascular damage.
In the light of what has just been said, it is clear that vitamin B deficiencies can seriously affect the patient's state of health, manifesting pathologies characterized by an aggravating and highly debilitating symptom concert.

Method of use and dosage

BICOMPLEX ®
Vials for oral use containing 10 mg of nicotinamide, 6.1 mg of riboflavin-5-phosphate sodium salt, 5 mg of thiamine hydrochloride, 1 mg of cyanocobalamin and 0.5 mg of calcium folinate. ;
it is generally recommended to take 1-2 vials per day according to therapeutic needs.
To best reconstitute the solution, it is necessary to press on the plunger of the cap, to facilitate the release of the contents and shake the solution well until the total dissolution of the powder content.

Warnings BICOMPLEX ® - Vitamins of group B

The presence of riboflavin in BICOMPLEX ® could cause a significant change in urine color, without any clinical significance.
The presence of sucrose in the solution could be deleterious for patients with diabetes, impaired oral glucose tolerance or glucose / galactose malabsorption.

PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING

BICOMPLEX ® could be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding, to compensate for the increased vitamin requirement observed in these periods of life.
However, it would be advisable to resort to this precaution always under the advice of your doctor.

Interactions

Although there are currently no active ingredients capable of significantly interfering with the pharmacokinetic characteristics of the B vitamins contained in BICOMPLEX ®, it should be considered that the simultaneous intake of proton pump inhibitors could reduce the intestinal absorption of cyanocobalamine.

Contraindications BICOMPLEX ® - Vitamins of group B

BICOMPLEX ® is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or to the relative excipients.

Undesirable Effects - Side Effects

The administration of BICOMPLEX ® proved to be very well tolerated and free from particular side effects.
Adverse gastrointestinal reactions such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhea have only rarely been described, especially in patients predisposed or treated for too long periods.
