More specifically, desloratadine is a second generation histamine H1 receptor antagonist and, as such, carries out its activity without inducing sedation.
The active ingredient is administered orally, in fact the medicines that contain it are formulated in the form of coated tablets, orodispersible tablets, syrups or oral solutions. These medicines, in order to be dispensed, require a repeatable medical prescription: some of them are classified as class C drugs, therefore, their cost is fully borne by the citizen; while others are classified as class A drugs and - when applicable (eligible for disease-free) - their cost can be reimbursed in whole or in part by the National Health System (in some cases, a small ticket is to be paid by the patient ).
