I don't know if you've noticed, but I love the gnocchi! Whether they are ricotta gnocchi, bread gnocchi or simple potato gnocchi, they are always an excellent first course! And today I made pumpkin gnocchi (without eggs), which I would like to treat for the holidays with a delicious broccoli sauce and chicken sausages (homemade!). Let's see what it's about!

Please note
To prepare this recipe we used homemade pumpkin gnocchi. However, it is possible to follow the same procedure using other types of gnocchi, such as ricotta gnocchi, potato gnocchi or spatzle.- Clean the broccoli: cut the flowering tops, wash them thoroughly and boil them in salted water for 10 minutes or until soft.
- Meanwhile, prepare the base for the sauce. Crumble the chicken sausages and sauté them in a hot pan, without adding any other seasonings. Maintain a high flame to brown the sausage pieces. When browned, cover with the lid and set aside.
- Pour 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil in a pan, flavor with a clove of garlic and add some sliced chilli pepper. When they are ready, remove the broccoli from the water with a slotted spoon and toss them in the oil, garlic and chilli base. Then add the pieces of sausage to the broccoli and leave to flavor for a few minutes.
- At this point, in the same cooking water as the broccoli, boil the pumpkin gnocchi, a little at a time: as soon as they appear they are ready. Drain the gnocchi with a slotted spoon and toss them in the broccoli and sweet sausage sauce.
- Serve immediately.
