Engrave the woody heart with the knife (positioned horizontally), but without removing it completely. Divide the pulp from the peel and remove it: cut out small wedges and place them again along the peel of the pineapple, fitting the pieces alternately. If you do not want to make the boat, remove the tuft and the whole woody heart after cutting the pulp into quarters, thus obtaining triangles or smaller pieces.

To empty a whole pineapple leaving the rind intact, you can also use the specific tool: in this way, it will be very easy to obtain regular slices, already deprived of the woody heart (Beware of pulp waste!
