Preparation
Please note
To be frosted, the fruit must be whole or in any case must not be peeled: for this reason, we recommend the purchase of organic fruit, that is, not subjected to chemical treatments. It is possible to frost all fruit with smooth skin (e.g. grapes, blueberries), wrinkled (e.g. citrus fruits), but not those covered with leathery (e.g. pineapple) or hairy (e.g. kiwi) skin.- Wash the fruit thoroughly and dry it with a soft cloth.
- Beat an egg white with a whisk or with the tines of a fork: it is advisable to buy pasteurized egg whites.
- Brush each single fruit with the beaten egg white.
Did you know that
For the vegan version, it is advisable to replace the egg white with a concentrated syrup made up of water and sugar or with simple maple syrup.- Sprinkle the fruits, one at a time, with granulated sugar.
- Allow the frosted fruits to dry on a rack or on a plate.
- Serve.
